How often is your Website updated?

Who is your independent auditor?

KPMG was appointed as Group auditor at the Annual General Meeting in April 2015. The appointment of the auditor is for one year, renewable annually.

In what currency are your financial statements prepared?

Our consolidated financial results are prepared in US dollars in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS").

To meet the needs of individual markets, we have a global total of close to 28,000 people in 90 countries.

What are your key financial targets?

Our financial objectives are based upon three key measures: EBITDA margin, cash flow return on investment and cash return to shareholders.

We are targeting an EBITDA margin of 24-26% by 2018 thereby reflecting our continued commitment to profitable growth.

We use cash flow return on investment targeting to maintain a level in excess of 12%, which represents a commitment to continuing strong cash generation at attractive levels of return on investment.

What levels of cash do you return to your shareholders?

The total cash return for the 10 year period 2007 to 2016 was over $9.0 billion. Cash return in 2016 was $1,040 million in the form of dividends.

What do you pay to your shareholders in the form of dividends?

The 2016 dividend was CHF 11.00 and was paid in cash on 2 May 2016.

The 2015 dividend was CHF 11.00 and was paid in cash on 5 May 2015 based on an ex-dividend date of 30 April 2015.

The 2014 dividend was CHF 10.00 and was paid in cash on 7 May 2014 based on an ex-dividend date of 2 May 2014.

The 2013 dividend was CHF 9.50 and was paid in cash on 30 April 2013 based on an ex-dividend date of 23 April 2013.

The 2012 dividend was CHF 8.00 and was paid in cash on 02 May 2012 based on an ex-dividend date of 26 April 2012.

The 2011 dividend was CHF 7.00 and was paid in cash on 28 April 2011 based on an ex-dividend date of 21 April 2011. It was paid from our share premium reserves, rendering it free from withholding tax.

The 2010 dividend was CHF 6.00 and was paid in cash on 27 April 2010 based on an ex-dividend date of 22 April 2010.

What is your Weighted Average Cost of Capital ("WACC")?

Our WACC is estimated at approximately 7%.

What are your debt ratings?

S&P: A+

Moody's: A2

S&P upgraded its rating for Syngenta from A to A+ in December 2013 and confirmed the rating in subsequent reviews. Moody's confirmed the A2 rating based on our leading market positions, high level of geographical diversification, strong business profile supported the track-record of delivering innovative solutions, and our balanced approach to managing growth and shareholder returns.

In February 2016, Syngenta's ratings were placed under review for possible downgrade following the announcement of ChemChina's offer to acquire Syngenta for a cash consideration of over USD43 billion.
