Syngenta and DuPont Crop Protection announce publication of a new joint patent for herbicide development

BASEL, Switzerland, and WILMINGTON, Del. – Syngenta and DuPont Crop Protection (DuPont) announced today the publication of a joint patent, focused on the development of a new herbicide chemistry class.

Syngenta receives approval for breakthrough fungicide ADEPIDYN™ in Argentina

Syngenta announced today that MIRAVIS™ Duo, a combination of ADEPIDYN™ and difenoconazole, has been approved by SENASA (regulatory authority in Argentina), for use on soybean for late cycle diseases. This is the first registration for a product based on ADEPIDYN™, a new fungicide belonging to the carboxamide chemical class.


ChemChina transaction: update on regulatory process

Syngenta and ChemChina today announced that the EU review of ChemChina’s acquisition of Syngenta will enter Phase II with effect from 31 October.

Syngenta expands production capacity in Brazil and Switzerland

Syngenta has announced the completion of capacity expansion projects at key sites in Brazil and Switzerland. The Company has invested a combined total of $240 million in two plants in Brazil - a new ELATUS™ fungicide plant in Paulínia, São Paulo, and an expanded corn seed factory in Formosa, Goiás - and in expanding its manufacturing facility for S-Metolachlor in Kaisten, Switzerland. These projects will ensure the achievement of industry-leading efficiency.


Executive Committee announcement

Syngenta announced today the appointment of Jeff Rowe to the new role of President Global Seeds and North America. In this new role Jeff will be responsible for the global seeds strategy and execution, combined with the leadership of the North American business across seeds and crop protection.


Management announcement

After a career spanning 31 years at Syngenta and legacy companies, Davor Pisk, COO, has decided to retire from the Company at the end of October. During his distinguished career, Davor was a key part of the leadership that delivered sales and profitability growth over many years. More recently he was instrumental in bringing new innovations to market in North America and in developing Syngenta's commercial success and strong reputation in the smallholder markets across APAC.


Management announcement

After more than 13 years with Syngenta, Jonathan Seabrook has decided to leave the Company. Jonathan served as Head Investor Relations between 2003 and 2007 and since then as Head Corporate Affairs. He was responsible for advancing Syngenta's reputation and for the creation of The Good Growth Plan. He will be succeeded by Mark Titterington, currently Head Corporate Affairs EAME. Mark has significant experience across all Corporate Affairs disciplines and has held a variety of roles in his 10 years with the Company.


Executive Committee announcement

After a career at Syngenta and legacy companies spanning 32 years, John Ramsay has decided to retire from the company at the end of September in order to pursue other interests. John was instrumental in the foundation of Syngenta and has served with distinction as CFO since 2007 and CEO ad interim until June of this year. John will be succeeded as CFO and member of the Executive Committee by Mark Patrick, currently Head of Commercial Finance. In his 23 years with the company, Mark has held a variety of roles of increasing seniority within the Finance function.
